  • Cotswold Morris Open evenings

    Nick Booth
    Mon 24/04/2017

Monday 3rd and Monday 24th April saw the first two Grimsby Morris Men’s workshop/open evening events. The events were publicized in the local press, via our Facebook page and by posters in a variety of local shops and other locations around the area.
In all, 4 members of the public attended and were able to get to know a little more about the team, look through some of our photo archives, enjoy light refreshments and even have a go at dancing. Dances from our summer repertoire, in the Wheatley style were the focus of the evening as these are (relatively!) simple and all participants quickly learned the basics and were dancing well by the end of the sessions. Well done to all our guests. They must have enjoyed it as everyone who turned up at the first session returned for the second one! We may even have recruited a new team member!

We now look forward to Workshop events later in the year looking into our winter dancing style.

Grimsby Morris Men gratefully acknowledge the help of the Heritage Lottery fund in supporting this event.
