  • Our Winter Season

During the darker, colder portion of the year Grimsby Morris change kit and dance style. We keep our shoes, breeches and bells but everything else changes. Our white socks are replaced by coloured socks, usually not matching. Our shirt and braces are removed and replaced with a Grimsby Morris tee shirt and a rag coat. Finally our toppers are taken off and replaced with a random hat. We also paint our faces in various colours.

Our dance style also changes from Cotswold Morris to Boarder Morris. Most sides spell this "border" because of its origin in the Welsh border country but we call it Boarder to reflect the Grimsby influence in our dances. These dances are danced with a vigorous bent legged stepping and showy (sometimes violent) stick clashing. We also make much more noise than when we dance Cotswold.
